Inquiring Minds 09/19/24

A thought exercise…

As I struggle dealing with a difficult relationship, this question comes to mind:

Is withholding kindness, retaliation?

Think about that for a moment. There are obligations in life and then there is the concept of going above-and-beyond for work (or personal) or to go out of your way to help or bless a loved one.

Yet what if you are wronged?

Do you (or should you) change to withhold that help or that blessing, knowing that you are not obligated to?

Yeshua does state to turn the other cheek and to forgive 70 x 7 (infinite, in theory).

Does this “turn the other cheek” mean to continue in that kindness even when knowing that person is just going to do it again?

What about an abusive relationship: friend, family, co-workers?

How long do you take it?

Help me with your thoughts below…..
