Worry.
We all worry. We may try not to but life is reality and we live in reality.
Some say to let go and let G-d. Others say it’s ok the Big Man upstairs is in control. Both of these statements have some truth in them yet I feel like they really miss the true point.
This point – the pinnacle of the mountain – is that He is not the Big Man. More aptly stated He is the Holiest Diety in the Universe.
And I don’t believe even that revised cliche really does justice to Hashem. In Jewish culture you don’t even say G-d as in His name. You might write YHWH or think of Him as He who is yet even more respectful is Hashem “the Name” as you refer to His name as an object not as a person because He is just way too Holy and you don’t want to disrespect Him or His name out of love and respect.
Now take that concept that He is so Holy, so powerful that you can’t even address Him by His name and that should give you pause.
Pause for consideration that we are to give Him our heart, soul, mind, and strength. We are to dedicate our lives through surrender and submission. And we are to praise and lovingly honor Him.
Pause for consideration how big He really is. How holy He really is.
We worry about the small things – food, jobs, finances, and much more yet Yeshua was very clear not to worry about these things because we are worth much more. We really need to worry or truly care about bigger things such as salvation and honoring Him.
When we stop for a moment and reflect, ponder, and admire He who is who He is then our worry should fade away and our heart should grow for Him.
Worry steals our joy and our true happiness in knowing we are going to be ok because He is bigger than our fears, disappointments, worries and hurts.
So what are you facing today? Pending job loss, a loved one who is ill, maybe just stress over so many things to tackle on your checklist of this and that items – whatever it is remember that we have a much bigger ( really infinite ) Father in Heaven who loves us and is worth it all.
Regarding things and circumstances;
From Matthew 6 (NASB95)
25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?
33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Regarding people
From Matthew 10 (NASB95):
28 Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in [a]hell.
